With the development of space optics, different kinds of optical equipments are used to explore space and detect the earth. One of them is lightning imaging sensor aimed at meteorological research. Before it is sent to the outer space by satellite, performance verification should be done in laboratory. In order to simulate the flash lighting signal at infinity and match the field of the lightning imaging sensor, it is necessary to design an infinite far scene simulation optical system.Based on the structure of flash lightning simulation system, parameters of the infinite far scene simulation optical system can be determined, which has a long focal length and its exit pupil away from the lens group. Analyze the usual structure of optical systems with long focal length and their applications, refraction type is chosen for design in this paper. Two optical systems with approximate structure are used to meet the demands about focal length and exit pupil. Combined with the aberration theory, design of the infinite scene simulation light path is done by ZEMAX software. System parameters are as following:focal length15000mm, field of view of6*6deg, exit pupil diameter130mm, exit pupil distance140mm. All aberrations are controlled in a reasonable level, disc of confusion is less than14um, which satisfy the imaging requirement.Considering the fabrication and assembly, test plate fitting and tolerance analysis are done after obtaining the final theoretical design. At last graphs of each optical component and the whole system are drawn in reference of the national standard.
