Shipboard vehicle is one of the most important equipment on the deck of large ships. It plays a key role for its mobility and multifunction. Sea state effects must be considered when we analyze shipboard’s driving dynamics. But now the motions of deck can’t be simulated in the real vehicle tests. In this dissertation a research has been made on the performance of shipboard’s driving dynamics by using virtual prototype technology.First, the main movements of the deck were analyzed using the theory of seakeeping. The amplitudes and frequencies in different sea states were calculated by the methods of spectrum analysis and statistical analysis.Second, rigid chassis, suspension system, steering system, brake system, tire system and so on were built using ADAMS/View. A special method which point motion was applied to describe the movement between the deck and ground was created to simulate the motions of the deck.Finally, handling and stability tests, brake tests, ride performance tests which were trying to simulating the real environment were took. The result shows the design of shipboard vehicle can meet main requirements when it is in normal states. The main danger is the happen of rollover when the vehicle is turning.
