| The question of a car’s safety is a concerned by domestic and external research at present. Bumper crashes are the most common scene in car crash accidents. Therefore it is very important to make efforts in research of improving bumper crash performance and energy absorption characteristics. This paper introduces some bumpers in current market, analyzes their advantages and disadvantages. Focus on an aluminum alloy energy-absorbing bumpers, the bumper is able to absorb collision energy by itself deformation in the collision, thereby reducing the collision damage. The research of this dissertation include following contents:Firstly, CAE is most important ways in modem car impact research. Systematic research is carried out on the method and basic theory of dynamic explicit-FEA, and then contrast study on the effect on the calculation result and efficiency of the parameter in crash simulation is discussed by numerical value analysis method, which supplies reference and basic for FEA modeling and parameter optimization.Secondly, in this paper, the FEA model of bumper low speed impacting energy absorbing bumper is set up, and orthogonal design is applied to the parameters of bumper’s energy absorbing structure optimization, finally the most important parameter of bumper’s energy absorbing structure influence crash worthiness of car bumper is found out. At last, the bumper’s energy absorbing structure with optimization parameters is designed, and it represent favorable crash performance in low speed impact.Thirdly, after design is fixed in paper with CAE, design validation test is necessary. Crash test in rig is important part to the whole process. We make this test in a dolly car, get the good result and compare it with the CAE. The results showed that the energy-absorbing bumper can absorb sufficiently car’s kinetic energy.Finally, the dissertation has made a summarization of research work done, and more discussions are made on energy absorbing safety bumper. |
