Shooting accuracy is one of the most important testing items in the machine gun type testing. To assess the performance of the machine gun, the shooter needs to shoot in a variety of environments (such as high temperature, low temperature, rain, etc.) to get the shooting parameters, but the uncertainties of the harsh environment and the security of the testing machine gun play an impact on the stability of the shooter, thereby affecting the firing stability and shooting accuracy. An automatic fire testing system was designed to replace shooter. In order to ensure the shooting accuracy of the weapons during the automatic shooting, dynamic analysis is needed after the structure design was completed. The three-dimensional model of the machine gun and the gun mount were established, then the model was imported into ANSYS after reasonable assemble and simplification. Then, after reasonable meshing, the free mode shapes and constrained mode shapes were obtained by calculating. The vibration characteristics of the system were analyzed at last.Meanwhile, the vibration signal acquisition system was built and the measuring points and incentive point were arranged based on the finite element calculation results. Then, through single-point incentive and multi-points measurements, the modal parameters of the system were obtained and the dynamic matching was verified through comparison between the experimental modal and calculation modal.Through the theoretical and experimental modal analysis of the testing gun mount, on one hand, the rationality of the structure design was demonstrated. On the other hand, the results laid the foundation for dynamic modification and optimization design in the future.
