As an important space probe load,astronomical cameras is being developed bythe major powers competing for space research, and space compatible with the targetrecognition of the positioning systems has been carried out in the same period. Targetdetection, target identification, and target orientation become very important。 Basedon this, this thesis focuses on the research of star pattern recognition algorithm and thecelestial fixing.Star pattern recognition is the basis of the celestial fixing. Several starcoordinates correspondence tables can be get after the star map was processed.According to the CCD coordinates and corresponding spherical coordinates, transferfunction can be built between these two coordinates so as to get the target position. Inthis paper, a kind of to improved-triangle star pattern recognition algorithm waspresented. To the choice of observed star a new approach is proposed which is basedon the distance to the axis of star sensor. A modified spherical matrix namedoverlapped spherical matrix is proposed in the paper and another star database isconstructed by the modified method. A method for position transfer function usingleast square method is proposed, and the spherical coordinate of the observationobject can be determined according to the position transfer function.Simulation experiments show that the compared with the traditional trianglealgorithm, the improved-triangle algorithm can increase the rate of correct recognitioneffectively. The algorithm using least square surface fitting method, can get resultswith minimal transition error with regard to the root-mean-square.Based on this, theprecision of celestial position will be improved.
