In recent years, new energy sources technologies and efficient energy storage system are required because of global warming and urban pollution. In order to protect the earth, peopleadvocate this theory of world’s energy shortage and pollution.and the demand for efficient green energy battery is increasing sharply, vanadium redox battery is took into account as good green batteries and efficient energy storage battery.This structure, working principle and key technologies of vanadium redox battery is described in this paper, recently. According to the preliminary results of operating parameters of the vanadium battery and vanadium battery performance, and design the test monitoring system of parameters of vanadium redox battery. This system includes hardware and software, achieve real-time monitoring of vanadium battery parameters which are the height and temperature of tank, flow and pressure of pipe, the single cell voltage, the stack voltage and total current, pipeline leakage monitoring, can keep abreast of the operational status of the vanadium redox battery, is designed to be simple, real-time, safe and reliable.The hardware includes data acquisition module, signal conditioning module, control module and communication module and so on. Microcontroller C8051F340is the main chip, LTC6802collects multiple series monomer voltage, when any monitoring parameters is exception, control device including alarm buzzer and alarm is started and the pump and the operation of the charging and discharging equipment is stopped. PC monitoring system and machine testing parameters are transferred data via the serial port RS-232C, key device is done the calibration tests, hardware of the whole system is debugged at last.The software includes microcontroller program and PC monitoring system program. Microcontroller program is developed by Silicon Laboratories IDE, the module program is developed by using C language; PC monitoring system is based on virtual instrument development platform LabVIEW, complete mainly the serial communication, data analysis, the data waveform display, data storage functions, is designed to be a very strong portability.In rapid development phase of the vanadium redox battery, through the realization of the vanadium redox battery parameter test monitoring system, researchers can obtain accurate operating parameters to find out the influencing factors on the vanadium battery performance, speed up the progress of the research and application of the vanadium redox battery.
