Now days ultrasound technology has been applied into many fields. Ultrasound is akind of mechanical vibration propagation in space, it can be regarded as a detectingmethod or a form of energy transmission. As a kind of detecting method, ultrasonictechnology has been widely used in underwater communication positioning,underground resources survey, industrial inspection and control,medical diagnosis,research of the material structure and so on; As a form of energy transmission,ultrasonic technology has born fruits in industrial material processing, chemical reactionacceleration, ultrasound therapy, cell crushing and macromolecules cutting. Aiming toput ultrasound in clinical treatment application, this paper researched related contentsabout phase controlled focused ultrasound.On the basis of ultrasound transducers mathematical model, the acoustic fielddistribution of spherical and rectangle ultrasonic transducer are analyzed by simulationmethod. The generalization of the acoustic field distribution features of the transducerslay a foundation for the transducer type selection of the transducer array.The control principle of the phase controlled focused ultrasound, calculationmethod of the phase controlled time delay as well as how to determine the keyparameters of the transducer array are all explained in detail. Through comparing thedifferent acoustic field distribution caused by different parameters the proper value isconfirmed, which sets up the physical model for the signal generation system.Finally, the signal generation system is designed in FPGA platform. The systemgenerates the phase controlled signal by way of direct digital frequency synthesismethod and adjusts the signal emission through the precise time delay module. Thegenerated signal is sampled and observed in signal tap logic analyzer, the sampledresults validate the system can be applied to drive the transducer array.This paper emphasizes on the phase controlled focused ultrasound application inthe clinical treatment and lots of useful explorations are done in this paper which pavesthe way for practical applications.
