In this paper, we describe the basic principles of optical interference andthe fiber interferometer, and analyze the coherent state phase modulationprinciple in the process of fiber stress strain and the necessary condition howis the fiber-optic Michelson interferometer constituted. The couplingcharacteristics of the parallel3×3fiber coupler is derived from the lightcoupled equations. After interference light gets through the coupler, a fixedphase differences2π/3is created. By this feature, we build a Michelsoninterference fringes counting system that can distinguish direction. The optical part of this system is a simple structure, responsive, highprecision dual optical interference system which use the single-mode fiberand the parallel3×3coupler optical fiber instead of the free-space opticalsystem in the traditional Michelson interferometer. The electronic circuitsection consist of a optical fiber sensing module, a signal mediation module,a sentenced to counting module and a microprocessor control communicationmodule. It complete the function of photoelectric signal conversion, signalmodulation, the interference fringes distinguishing direction countingmachine and data transmission to upper machine. In this paper, the optical device and electron device is chosen. Weintroduce the related circuit design, and the corresponding program flowchartand part of the code is given. We test the stress by using of the fiber-opticMichelson interferometer that we designed, and realize the function of datacollection, storage, display, and PC communication successfully. We test theaccuracy of the instrument data acquisition through the modification of theinstrument.
