Semiconductor materials have attracted much attention in recent years because of their unique properties, which is widely used in electronic equipment and solar devices. Research on the controllable preparation of nano-materials with unique structures and morphologies has become an important field for developing materials. In this work, we obtained highly quality nanoparticles via some simple and surfactant-free method. The morphology and properties of the products have been characterized by TEM, SEM, EDS, XPS and XRD etc. The main results are summaried as follows:(1) Synthesis of Antimony sulfide (Sb2S3) nanocrystals:Freestanding Sb2S3films and nanorings were easily achieved at the interface of toluene and water at room temperature by using Sb xanthate and Na2S as precursors. The Sb2S3films were composed of nanowires which has a strong growth direction in the vertical direction. The Sb2S3nanorings which had typical diameters of1-2μm and wall thickness of50-200nm were made of bundled nanowires bent at the curvature of the ring and connected by end to end. The degradation ratio of methyl orange in aqueous solution using Sb2S3nanorings under visible light was100%in30min.(2) Synthesis of Nickel sulfide (NiS) nanocrystals:Spindle-like NiS particles were synthesized at the interface of toluene/water or benzene/water. The particles had an average length of350nm and a diameter in the range of100-200nm. The kinds of organic solvent influence the structures of the spindles. Increased the concentration of nickel xanthate, NiS sheets were formed, be of large areas and thin thicknesses.(3) Synthesis of Zinc sulfide (ZnS) nanocrystals:Polyhedral nanostructure of ZnS was easily synthesized by hydrothermal process using zinc xanthate as precursors, ethylenediamine as solvent at180℃. Some polyhedral arranged neatly stepped with length in the range of1-2μm or100-200nm. The photocatalytic activity was also investigated in this work.
