Porous silicon carbide ceramic has excellent performance of high temperatureresistance, high temperature resistant to acid and alkali corrosion resistance, highstrength, good thermal shock resistance and electric heating and other functions, so thatin the high temperature gas filtration, metal filter has been widely used.In this paper, by adding pore-forming agent and method for preparing highperformance silicon carbide porous ceramics, and studies various kinds of binder, poreforming agent and sintering additives and forming pressure and sintering temperature onthe mechanical properties of porous silicon carbide ceramics, at the same time on thecorrosion resistance of porous silicon carbide ceramics was studied. Finally through theXRD, SEM, universal material testing machine and other testing means, on the porousceramic sintered body physical properties and microscopic structure made of testing,analysis and discussion.The experimental results are as follows:1.Through the contrast of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), polyvinylalcohol (PVA) as well as glucose and silica sol four kinds of binder on porous siliconcarbide ceramic green body and the properties of fired products surface topography,eventually determined to15wt%CMC as binder strength big, sintering after the surfacebubbling phenomenon.2.Experiments were conducted with the Y2O3, CaCO3as sintering aids, usingcarbon black, graphite, ammonium bicarbonate as pore-forming agent, based on poroussilicon carbide ceramic sintering process in their mechanism of action and thecorresponding products performance comparison, Finally, to identify2.5wt%Y2O3as afluxing agent, graphite as pore-forming agent and preparation of porous SiC ceramics.The mechanical properties of optimal, and its corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance performance test.3.When the graphite content is15wt%,in experiments to obtain porous siliconcarbide ceramic porosity rate reached48.3%, the flexural strength can reach85MPa.
