Maintaining the stability of roof is very important at mines which using underhand cemented tailings backfill method. Because that anchor can improve the strength of backfill, so it has good effect for the stability of roof. But only a few of researches have been carried out in this field. As a result, research on theory is lagged behind of engineering practice. In view of this, anchoring mechanism at backfill has been discussed based on anchoring theory. Anchoring effect to backfill has been researched by similar simulation experiment and numerical simulation analysis. And anchoring effect with different parameters of anchor has been researched. In addition, optimization of some parameters of anchor has been studied. It is more helpful for the research of anchor with the results.The main contents and results are as follows:(1) The theoretical analysis results show that anchor can hanging the lower backfill. Anchor has composite beam function, and it can make crushing backfill more stable. The adhesive force of filling slurry, mechanical interlock of anchor and force of plate are subject factors which generating anchoring force.(2)Use of plane strain experiment model, failure law and failure modes of cemented tailings backfill roof with anchor or without anchor have obtained. The experiment of similarity simulation experiment indicates that the failure mode is not affected by anchor. The fracture was appeared first, then generated roof fall, structural failure at last. But the cemented tailings backfill roof with anchor is more stable. Anchor can relief roof fall effectively.(3)Influence of using anchor on stability of backfill were researched by numerical simulation experiment. The results of experiment show that anchor can improve the stability of the cemented tailings backfill. The first thing is that deformation of cemented tailings backfill was decreased because of anchor. The second thing is that stress concentration could be improved and the tensile stress and pressure stress were decreased with anchors.(4) The finite difference software F1AC3D numerical simulation is used to research the stability of cemented tailings backfill with different parameters, including length, diameter and spacing of anchor. The results show that the stability of cemented tailings backfill is better when using the longer anchor, the larger anchor and the smaller spacing of anchor. Influence of spacing to stability of cemented tailings backfill is largest, than length and diameter.(5) In order to optimize parameters of anchor, data of vast scale were obtained through axial force experiment. The relationship between axial force with time has obtained. It has good utilization and anchoring effect when using anchor with diameter of14mm and plate of10cm×10cm.
