Sintering process is an important procedure of iron ore pretreatment in the iron and steel smelting process, which provides high quality production of sintering for blast furnace. The quality of the sinter has a significant impact on the production of blast furace and hot metal quality. Burn-through Point (BTP) is the most important heat state parameter in sintering process and the most critical task for sintering process control is stabilizes BTP. So BTP control has the great significant for iron and steel industry.The BTP control process is a very complex and nonlinearity industrial process with the features of non-linear, some difficulty detected parameters, numerous interference factors. Based on the intensive analysis of the technological mechanism and control difficulties in the BTP control process, as well as the profound researching on the data of the sintering process, the performance evaluation strategy for the BTP control process is proposed by using the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation.At first, due to some important parameters cannot be detected on-line, the BTP soft-sensoring model is built. To deal with the problem that sintering process performance evaluation, the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model is established based on the analysis of production data and fuzzy logic, which achieved the fuzzy evaluation of the sintering process. Then, according to the value of fuzzy evaluation, the fuzzy self-organization of sintering process is built, which stabilized the BTP by changing the stand speed.Simulations validate the effectiveness of the modeling strategy proposed in this paper. Meanwhile, in order to verify its value of practical application, the performance evaluation control system is developed in a domestic iron and steel enterprise. The running results show that the system achieved the stable control of BTP, effectively improve the utilization factor of the sintering machine and the quality of sinter.
