The dissertation introduces the advanced GIS technology in management ofmarine biodiversity protection. developing a system based on hardware, systemsoftware, organizations, and bio-diversity data, and supported by the GIS technology,GPS technology, computer technology, database technology, and professional model ofbio-diversity resource management, consists data collection, storage, management,analysis, decision-making, query, and output, can be collection, management andanalysis the data of biological resources status and historical accumulation in protectedareas, established the biodiversity resources management decision-making informationsystems witch achieve objectives and covering protected areas. The baseline databasewitch a professional database of GIS and mangrove ecosystem,were use to managementand decision of Guangxi Beilun Estuary National Nature Reserve.Using ArcGIS software as platform and the ArcGIS Engine and Visual Basicprograming language as a development means,and Access as database,the authorestablished the wetlands biodiversity management information system of Beilun Estuaryprotected area based on GIS.The dissertation mainly expounds system development platform and relatedtechnology,system analysis,system design and system implementation. The systemdevelopment platform and related technology consist of the hardware and software ofsystem development platform and GIS application development technology,this sectionespecially focuses on ArcGIS Engine,the development tools of ArcGIS, the analysisof system analysising the feasibility of the system, overall demand and detailedrequirements, the design of system consists of function designing, database designingand interface designing. Based on structure, the system was divided into twosubsystems of the platform of the basic geographic and professional applications,Including the maintenance of geographic information, the map operations and theunderlying code maintenance, data collection, data aggregation, data query, thematicmap production, output file, experts Knowledge, spatial analysis, GPS data processing.The system implementation consists three parts,First, system entering based on VisualBasic; Second, database development based on VisualBasic and Access; Third,thesecondary development of ArcGIS Engine. In the end, the dissertation summarizes andraises the prospect of the system.
