MC-1Flux Compression Generator is a kind of explosive driven pulsed high magnetic field device. The basic principle of MC-1Generator is compressing the magnetic flux in a closed conductor ring by implosion. Though it has a simple theory, but the physical process is complex, which involved with mass properties under high energy density and nonlinear MHD situations. So far the U.S. and Russia have most advanced technology related with MC-1Generator. In U.S./Russia generators are used as devices to produce pulsed high magnetic fields(~1000Tesla) or isentropic pressure(~100GPa to10TPa), and they have been widely used in equation of state, high magnetic field experiments and material preparations. At the end of the1960s to the70s, China Academy of Engineering Physics followed up with this new technology and made some achievements, but stopped very soon for a variety of reasons. Until the1990s they restart the research again, but almostly with a new beginning in the initial stage. As the complexness and lack of experimental measurement in China, the numerical simulation is an effective approach in understanding the physical process.in this paper the Implosion&MHD Models for MC-1generator were described and a numerical difference scheme was proposed. The Magnetic Diffusion Equation in1D cylindrical Lagrange coordinate and its special treatments were emphasized. A multi-vacuum suitable1D MHD simulation code MC11D was programmed.MC11D code’s fluid module and magnetic module were tested and verified in the simulaiton of liner implosion and initial magnetic field loading. The influences of initial magnetic field and liner thickness were discussed and some conclusions had been drawn: Taking no account of2D instability, amplification of initial magnetic field leads to a decrease of Peak Magnetic Field and an increase of Turning Radius. Variation of metal liner conductivity slightly affects the peak field, but a higher conductivity results in a larger Turning Radius, which could be good for magnetic field measurement. Finally a three cascades MC-1generator from VNIIEF in Russia has been simulated. The result is compared with RAVEN code from LANL. It verifies that this MC11D code could deal with some complex configurations. MC11D code could be a reliable tool for experiment result analysis and MC-1parameter optimization.
