An Analyze Of Richard Rorty Epistemology From The Perspective Of Marxism

This dissertation mainly analysis the main theoretical contents and theoretical openness in epistemology of Richard Rorty and enlighten our understanding of the philosophy of Marxist epistemology. The meaning of Rorty’s philosophical theory is that he made a number of inspiring ideas in the critique of traditional philosophy and analytic philosophy and in the prospects for the development of philosophy. His critical theory of reflection in the mirror have many profound insight, he state that analytic philosophy of the so-called linguistic turn only using the mirror of language instead of the empiricist epistemology of the mirror of the soul, it did not get rid of the philosophy of the mirror metaphor. He was opposed to the dualism of philosophy and truth equal to world theory. He criticized the dichotomy of philosophy, his philosophy of language and pragmatism digest traditional philosophy problem. Heidegger said that language is human being’s home, Rorty said language generate truth, human being get knowledge and cognitive from language, but language can not accurately represent material world, but if human want to get relatively reliable truth they need to study the relative reliability language. And he has different with the previous analytic philosophy, he believes that language can not be divided into word study, language should have the whole meaning. Language holism is his behavior epistemology. Rorty attempts to use non-philosophical language to deconstruct philosophy, in his deconstruction, faced with communication difficulties, the non-philosophy cannot communicate with traditional philosophy; he did not solve the problem.Marxist philosophy critic traditional epistemology, from the perspective of dialectical materialism, this theory critic the idealism of mind because it confused heart of fantasy and the objective world, Marxist philosophy can achieve the objective and subjective unified truth. Marxist perspective of language encounters in modern Western philosophy of language revealed that modern Western philosophy of language not only inherited from Marx’s perspective of language, but it also has a challenge to the Marxist of language philosophy, while modern Western philosophy of language require Marxist of language against their predicament. On this basis, the contemporary value of Marx’s of language naturally presenting. Marxist of language encounter Richard Rorty’s philosophy of language revealed its significant contemporary theoretical value of the Marxist of language. The perspective Marxist of language have contemporary theoretical value and practical value, so Marxist perspective of language can orient contemporary philosophy of language value development, contemporary philosophy of language can choose their own value orientation from the Marxist perspective of language to develop their own theory. Marx and Richard Rorty both critics of the Western philosophical tradition, the comparison of similarities and differences in their philosophy can both benefit Marxist philosophy and absorb the rational elements in Rorty’s philosophy.
