The psychological pressure is the problem that everyone would face with today. Will you intend to forgive other people? when you are with great psychological pressure and in a situation where the others misunderstand you or are unfriendly to you? Which way do you chose to forgive others? Today we are living in the universality of the experience:From primary students to state leaders, each of us will encounter these problems. What will you do when you are in psychological pressure? Will it affect your daily life and study and what the depth of it? Will you tend to tolerate those who hurt you? This issue will be discussed in this essay. Empathy ability for individual is an important capability, which allows us to understand, to approve, and even to accept their thoughts and feelings with their perspectives, and even makes us reach a consensus as much as possible. Ickers (1993) defined empathy as:the ability to accurately deduce the specific thoughts and feelings of others. That is to say, it refers to a kind of psychological tendency in which you put yourself in the feelings of others and in their current emotional experience. In our daily life, if we put ourselves in our lives, empathy two words (the two words, such as, consideration and consensus) can well express the meaning of empathy. According to empathy altruism and accommodate theory, McCullough and other scholars think the reason why people forgive the offenders is that victim has empathy for offenders in a series of motives change process which reduces the motivation of victim’s revenging and alienating offenders, and to accelerate the victim and the offender to reconciliation. They also pointed out that forgiveness is not a motive, but a process of change of pro-social motivation. The study from foreign scholars found forgiveness gradually mature with the personal growth and the personal experience. We will explore the relationship between psychological stress and forgiveness style, and explore the role of empathy between the psychological pressure and forgiveness style through learning weather there is empathy.We will explore the relationship among psychological pressure, empathy ability, forgiveness from the perspective of university students. Firstly,introduceds that the specific meaning of empathic ability, forgiveness style and psychological pressure. One of our study is that we assume that tthe empathy capability has played a mediating role between psychological stress and forgiveness style. As an intermediary, the empathy capability can influence its function of psychological stress and forgiveness style. In other words, the empathy capability can promote college students under psychological pressure to forgive others. According to the learning of weather there is the empathy capability, we explore scores of forgiveness style which college students can get under psychological pressure.We found, through the tests and study, the experimental group who have done the empathy learning have more tendency to forgive others than the control group who have not. Judging from the results of our study, we can provide a beacon for the students in the process of growing and make them understand others, and eventually to forgive the unreasonable behavior and attitudes of others, when they are faced with the pressure of learning and the interpersonal problems to be solved. Finally, they can achieve the harmoniously physical and mental development.We have selected the students of Southwest University who are on campus through questionnaire survey and experimental studies.. We have selected the "College Students’Psychological Stress Questionnaire","College Students Empathy Readiness Questionnaire", and "College Students Forgive Style Questionnaire" as the survey tool,using5-point scoring method. According to the examination of these questionnaire’s construct validity and content validity, these questionnaires have good validity. And they are in line with the actual situation of university students, with good content validity, based on the analysis of the content validity. Study I has found empathy ability plays a good intermediary role between psychological pressure and forgiveness style:the greater the psychological pressure is, the more ability to learn forgiveness he will have, that is to say, the empathy ability can affect the of forgiveness behavior of university study. In study Ⅱ, by comparing the empathy study group with the other group without empathy learning, we have the further illustration that the college students under the psychological pressure who have empathy earning tend to forgive others more easily than who are not. College students have interaction with peers more closely, which will lead to more conflict. This study provides a theoretical basis for college students of empathy education. Learning empathy, college students will not only benefit a lot from it when they are encountering conflicts and injuries, maintaining the physical and mental health, and promoting the harmony interpersonal relationships and their own developments, but also contribute to improving their moral development.The results of our study show that the forgiveness score which the group who have learned empathy under different level of psychological pressure get is higher than the group without empathy learning. That is to say, the experimental group with empathy learning will forgive others more often and more easily than the control group without empathy learning.From this we can draw a conclusion that this effect will put into work by individual empathy learning.It also proves our assumptions. If every college student under psychological pressure could forgive others from the point of view of empathy, perhaps there would be much less negative news around us, which also would promote the growth of the mental health of college students.The study proved that empathic ability has a mediating effect between psychological pressure and forgiveness style. Through the empathy study, we found empathy learning students can understand and forgive others more often and more easily from standing in the perspective of others than that of little empathy students. This kind of study was not applied in the past, which provides a new way for future mental health education of college students. Moreover, it also provides a theoretical basis for the promotion of college students’mental health and their personality improvement.
