The study of language by event-related-potential is an important area in cognitive psychology. For example, studies have showed that N2may be related to the conflict monitoring. The incubation period of N2varies with conflict information attributes, for example, Wang Yuping et al. recently discovered the N270; there also be the electrical components of N250and N400, which is closely related to the cognitive and language. N250and N400, respectively was250ms and400ms after the target word and the induced electrical negative elements, and some researchers have speculated that these two electrical negative ingredients may be related to orthographic processing and semantic processing. This research will continue to study the cognitive processing mechanism of Chinese characters through the event related potential. And distinguish the N2components induced by language cognitive processing of conflict information processing.In experiment1, using same size and conflicting two Chinese characters for the experimental materials, our result suggested Chinese character conflicts can cause the brain to monitor the size of the negative elements. Experimental results was in accordance with our expectations, the size of the Chinese character conflicts did not induce a brain monitor the negative elements, but indicated that the size of the Chinese characters processing could be under automatic processing.In experiment2, using the same Chinese words as in experiment1, but Chinese character orthography is the conflict condition (font) in this experiment. The Chinese character orthography is conflict in the same word and synonym of orthography conflict. Consistent with the results in experiment1, about250ms after the appearance of target words (Chinese characters of the second Chinese character), an eeg components-N250was induced, and around400ms a significant P3components was induced. The results showed that the Chinese character may store in memory as templates. Two Chinese characters appearing after the current orthography (template) is inconsistent, caused the brain conflict monitoring, so as to induce a negative N250component. After early orthographic processing in the brain was done, semantic can be understood. Because of the former and latter Chinese characters is synonymous words, semantic conflict does not exist, therefore appeared around400ms P3components might reflect the brain for the Chinese word for semantic information integration and the matching process.In experiment3, materials are Chinese characters font word with and without conflict. As a result, Chinese characters font did not induce obvious negative conflict monitoring ingredient under the condition of the conflict. While same with experiment2, around400ms P3is a significant component. The results confirm the inference of the experiment2though the two Chinese characters do not match in font, but orthography is not conflict, so there is no conflict, of evoked brain monitoring. Along with the processing of Chinese characters font and orthography information, and then it is the word of semantic information, resulting in P3.This study shows that the template theory better explain the cognitive processing mechanism in front of the Chinese character semantic processing. Relative to the Chinese character size and font conflicts, the conflict of Chinese Orthographic may be more comparable with the result of Wang Yuping et al., which used digital, shape, and spatial location information. The results also suggest that Chinese Orthographic processing may be the first step in brain processing of Chinese characters, the processing of Chinese character size and font may be awareness automatic. |
