Children often make trust decision in peer interaction. The results and causes of trust decision are various with children in different ages. They affected by both cognitive and affective trust in the decision-making. Through the study of cognitive and affective trust, it is conductive for us to understand the development of socialization and personalization of children.With the methods of interview and situational experiment, This study took7-11aged children as research objects, to discuss the peer trust decision based on cognition and emotion. It explored how the level of theory of mind and self-esteem affects the peer trust decision. This study presented four arguments of peer trust decision which is ablity, honest, interaction and caring through interview, and examined the results of the peer trust decision and the causes of the choices in different levels of arguments with the methods of situational experiment. The study show that:1The children tended to trust the peer on honest when they had to choose. There was no difference in results of the peer trust decision, but boys tended to choose the ablity while the girls choose the caring.2The children tended to trust the peer much as the grade become higher and higher. All grades of students tended to choose honest while they chose ablity less and emotional argument much with the grades higher and higher.3There was no difference in results and causes of peer trust decision on different levels of self-esteem of children. The children trusted the peer much and the choice was based on the ablity less with the level of theory of mind was higher. 4The truster will make the decision of trust others much easier if the trustee is much honest, the caring he or she gave was much, or their relationship was much better. But there was no difference with different levels of the ability on the trustee. The children were significantly made their decisions based on the honest which was belong to the emotional arguments.5The relationship made no differences in results but was significantly different in causes of peer trust decision to different levels of ability of the peer. The caring made significant differences in results but no difference in causes to different levels of honest.6The ability made significant differences both in results and causes to different levels of caring. The honest made significant differences in results but no difference in causes to different levels of caring.
