With the coming of the ecological crisis, people pay more and more attention to the ecological issues. Such as ecological environment, ecological tourism, ecological food, ecological industry and ecological construction, etc. Ecology has become a hot subject, ranging from biological ecology, environment ecology, social ecology to ecological aesthetics, ecological philosophy, ecological translation. Ecology seems no longer just a specialized professional knowledge, it has evolved into a new research method, as a new paradigm of scientific research, provides people a new way of thinking of world.In such a big background, linguistics has also been the enlightenment of ecology and formed a new discipline, ecological linguistics, this is the study of language and environment reciprocity, mutual influence cross discipline. This study based on2011network buzzwords as corpus object, using some of the basic theory of ecological linguistics, such as language idea of diversity, dynamic thought and the concept of the language environment to analyze network buzzwords and the problem of the network ecological environment is discussed.In this thesis, we explore China’s2011Internet buzzwords from ecolinguistics point of view. The purpose is to explain the relation between language ecology and environmental ecology, as well as the environmental impact on language in precipitation of buzzwords. This thesis is divided into five parts to discuss the ecolinguistics concept of Internet buzzwords.The first chapter introduces the the motive, significance and layout of this study.The second chapter reviews the formation and development of ecolinguistics. It discusses the relationship between language and ecological awareness from the following aspects:linguistic diversity, linguistic human rights, the protection of "threatened" and "endangered" languages, connection between linguistic, culture and biological diversity, and critical ecolinguistics.The third chapter outlines the diversity of buzzwords, looks into the environmental influence on buzzwords from configuration characteristics in the following four aspects: parody, metaphors, abbreviations and figurativeness.The fourth chapter looks into the ecological perspective reflected by buzzwords, from the classification of buzzwords, discusses buzzwords exhibited by ecological view from social, cultural and environmental aspects.The fifth chapter draws conclusion. A summary mainly about the generation of buzzwords and the constantly expanding propagation route, to show the impact of environment on language, and proposes appropriate suggestions for buzzwords in favor of maintaining harmonious language ecology.
