It’s very important of rite education and music education in ancient China. The capping ceremony was a delicate and unique culture design, was an important etiquette for adult education and cultural heritage to the young man who will enter the ranks of the adults, was a sign of transition from child to adult, was an important milestone in life. After the capping ceremony held, it’s need to perform the virtue of "filial piety, fraternal duty, loyalty, obedient", and practice the rite and morality, to be a qualified social being, to assume his responsibilities and obligations that the family, the society, the state had given him, at the same time he also had the corresponding adult right to participate in worship, to be an official,to get married and have children. The capping ceremony originated from the coming-of-age ceremony in the primitive society, after thousands of years of historical development, carrying the rich Chinese traditional culture. The main content and the specific procedure of ancient capping ceremony include the preparations before the ceremony, the processes of the ceremony, the other rituals after Main ceremony. The preparations before the ceremony were "Divinatory day, Inform the guests, Divinatory guest, Invite guest, Determine the time", etc.; the processes of the ceremony were in sequence "Display implements, Take one’s place, Greet the guest, Crown, Propose a toast, Meet mother, Give a style name", etc.; the other rituals after Main ceremony are "Visit relatives, Visit venerable Sir, Banquet guests, See the guests off", etc."Respect" is an important category of Confucianism, It has a pivotal position in pursuing of knowledge, cultivating individual moral character, managing the nation in order in ancient Chinese."Respect" is not only a kind of attitude showed revere, esteem, polite, but also the concentrated reflection of all kinds of virtue, and the ancients’ essential technique of cultivating one’s moral character and behave ethically. It is a general theory of Confucianism that "Respect" is the main idea of "the rite". "Respect" is the basic spirit of "the ritual" that rooted in the nature of "the ritual". This article analysis of the spiritual connotation of respect in the capping ceremony through expounding all aspects of the ceremony in detail. From taking the capping ceremony seriously, ancestor worship, paying attention to appearance, respecting the name, reverence for life, etc., to study the spirit of respect in the capping ceremony. The capping ceremony makes young people cultivating morality and having proper facial features, establishing conscience and sense of responsibility, thereby live respected towards adults. At the same time, the capping ceremony is also a kind of recognition and praise highly of a personal life value. Using the capping ceremony in ancient China for reference, absorbing the spirit of respect contained in the ceremony, to cultivate the right outlook on life and value system of young people, let the sense of social responsibility and adult consciousness deeply into the young people’ hearts, it has a great significance to young people’s growing to maturity and becoming excellent in modern society.
