A Translation Project Report On Introduction To Rural Planning (Chapter6)

China now is carrying out the strategy of coordinating the rural developmentand accelerating the construction of new socialist countryside in full swing. Againstthis backdrop, the author chose Chapter Six (Community Change) of Introduction toRural Planning as the source text. The translation was done under the guidance offunctional equivalence theory, with due consideration given to insights fromcontrastive studies of English and Chinese, especially substitution vs. repetition,pre-emphasis vs. post-emphasis, and different ways of using quotation marks.Through detailed analysis of the above, this report aims to shed light on thetranslation of similar texts.
