Lv dongbin is one of the "eight immortals" and the only realcharacters in history. legends and stories about Lv Zu in ancientChinese texts not only have been rich, they also can beenfound from texts and history books. From the perspective of thebeliefs in Lu dongbin, this article describe and nalyzes thecurrent temple fair of Yongle Gong Palace,which shows thelocal residents’ ritual respects and sacrifice activities on Lv Zuin the temple fair, the author tries to evolute beliefs in Lv Zu inpublic life and cultural interpretation of Lv Zu faith.This thesis is divided into three parts---Generalization, Bodyand Conclusion. The first part covers the research object andscope, academic history review, selected topic goal and itssignificance, sources of the facts and research methods. Bodypart is categorizes into four chapters: the first chapter is ahistorical examination of LvZu in Yongle Gong Palace, mainlyintroduces the basic situation of Yongle Gong Palace and theimage of Lu dongbin in the history of literature and folklore. Inthe second chapter introduces the three Lv Zu sacrifice placesin the temple fair, and describes sacrificial rituals to Lv Zu. The third chapter respectively describes operas’ interpretation,people’s praying and life taboos--from three aspects: Lv Zubeliefs in public life;public memory of the past temple fair andthe current development changes of the temple fair; The fourthchapter mainly analyses the evolution of influence factors to LvZu religion and its cultural significance produced by the localpeople, and the inheritance of Lv Zu beliefs.The last part is on the basis of summarizing the whole text,analyzing the belief’s formation in Lu dongbin in the local uniqueenvironment, with distinctive features of the ritual culture toprove that the wide basis in the people and the social influenceare significant. The faith to Lv Zu also is closely related topeople’s lives, common people have made great contribution forthe inheritance of the beliefs in Lv Zu, the great character inChinese history.
