This paper takes the folk music in the Han and Jin courts as research object. By reading and analyzing documents and literature, this paper, beginning from the aspect of music system, reviews development of the folk music. This not only can demonstrate the development characteristics of court music, reveal the impact which the court music system inflicted on the advancing process of folk music and present the complete identity of the court music system, but also is helpful for perfect reproduction of the ancient Chinese music culture.This thesis falls into five chapters:First chapter is the introduction which embodies a brief description of current status of research and analysis on music system and folk music in Chinese Han and Jin dynasties, the research purpose and significance and so on.The second chapter, mainly dealing with the music system in Han and Jin dynasties is comprised of discourse on three topics:Firstly, some basic concepts of this study about court music, such as "system——Chinese zhi","standard——Chinese du" and "music system"; Secondly, analysis on fundamental state of the music system in Zhou dynasty to ascertain its connections with that of the Han-Jin periods; Thirdly, analysis on music system of Han-Jin periods and analysis of and whose differences from that of the Zhou dynasty.The third chapter mainly discusses the basic situation of "ya"-music and folk music in the court of Han and Jin periods. It focuses mainly three points:First, analysis on development status of the court "ya"-music and its characteristics at that time; Second, a brief mention of origin and development situation of folk music; Third, on basis of music system, analysis on general development characteristics of folk music, introducing the next topic discussed below. The last but one chapter centers on the institutionalization of folk music. Based on implication of above mentioned "system" and "music system", in terms of designability, classification, creativity, normality, binding character, rituality, this part details impact of the music system on "Baixi","Guchui-music","Qingshang-music" and reveals the characteristics of institutionalization of the folk music. Through this chapter, it is found out that the impacts which the music system made on folk music are not exactly the same, the institutionalization features of varied folk music differs in respect to emphasis.Last chapter is the conclusion. It reveals the influence of the folk music institutionalization in courts of the Han and Jin dynasties on folk music and later development of Chinese ancient music.
