In modern Chinese literary history, Cao Yu is a successful realistic playwright, he win Chinese and western, in harmony through ancient and modern, the tragedy of the western art and the perfect combination of Chinese national characteristics, social reality in the western culture reconstruction on the basis of the innovation. Works with his unique understanding of social reality and feelings, to the tragic fate of Chinese women gave a lot of attention, shape life like characters. Through the works of "thunderstorm","field","sunrise" and "Peking man" the four big tragedies, we can really feel the writers profound literature foundation of basic skills and strong sense of social responsibility, unique and exquisite aesthetic tragedy.This paper consists of preface, text and epilogue three parts. The text is divided into three chapters:The first chapter is mainly through the works of the four great tragedy works explore the art of tragedy. Cao Yu’s works absorb the nutrition of western religious culture and Chinese traditional culture, the ancient Greek tragedy art as a source of artistic creation, make full use of the symbolism, deepened the tragic works, for the development of Chinese drama art has played a huge role.The second chapter mainly from the intellectual women’s tragic fate, the tragic fate of women into the public space, the strong women’s tragic fate, the lower labor women’s tragic fate, etc to interpret works of women Cao Yu’s tragedy image, feeling the real tragedy maker is The Times and society, the first is to transform a person’s heart.The third chapter focuses the main cause of works women Cao Yu’s tragedies, alienation and deformity of the society that they suffer from both mental and physical torture. Their tragic fate is the product of the semi-colonial and semi-feudal society,"can’t change destiny" reflects the authors for their survival situation and complicated emotional experience thinking, deeply revealed the social essence.
