This article tried to specifically analyze the creation and attitude changes in Bing Xin’s various periods, further investigate the ups and downs and the destiny of the idea of "love" in the turning era, and overall grasp and deepen the understanding of the ideological content of the "love". Furthermore, this article also discussed the different interpretations and judgment in different contexts and Zeitgeist using the Reception Aesthetics, in order to find the impact of the Bing’s "love" thought on literary history."The Complete Works of Bing Xin letters","Bing Xin Complete Works Letters Volume"(3rd edition) and new-discovered lost essays provided new materials and for this article, and strong evidence of the evolution of Bing Xin’s thought. This article was based on text research. By comparing Bing Xin’s literary works with letters and lost essays, the author re-examined the rich connotations and value of the idea of "love", aiming at changing the superficial understanding of Bing Xin’s thought and re-establishing a real Bing image. The article is divided into three chapters:In the first chapter, the author discussed the origin of the idea of "love" through family environment, educational experience and the background of Bing Xin. The love of parents and elders and the affection of brothers and sisters created a family living environment full of "love" for Bing, which was the initial hotbed of "Love". Traditional culture with Confucianism color built a cultural foundation for the idea of "love". The broad love of God and the spirit of salvation from Western Christianity inspired Bing Xin’s faith on "love". Besides, the ideas of love life and involvement in the world derived from Tagore’s philosophy guided Bing Xin to explore the meaning of life. Under the circumstances of the May Fourth Movement, she reconciled and established the idea of "love".The second chapter focuses on the adjustment and evolution of Bing’s idea of "love" in various creating periods for overall grasping its rich connotations. In this chapter, the idea of "love" is divided into three stages:Establishment (1919-1926), Sticking to and Changes (1927-1946), Adjustment and Regression (After1946). With the increase of her life experience and the changing times, fresh contents were added to the idea of "love" except the primary "Motherly love","Love of children" and "Love of nature" in every stage. In front of the reality of times, the idea of "love" showed irreconcilable contradictions between the weaknesses of confrontation with social reality and the strong mentality of involvement in the world. It also experienced varying degrees of trade-offs and adjustments in different historical periods. For example, the idea of "love" experienced a conversion process from the inside out, from virtual to real and from Kingdom of heaven to earth, and Bing Xin strengthen the humanitarian contents including opposition to the war and calling for world peace and friendship. In addition, its adjustment to the praise theme and the People’s position and the reversion of problem awareness in Bing Xin old age are also the emphasis of this chapter. The third chapter based on Reception Aesthetics of Hans Robert Jauss. It reviewed the meaning of Bing’s "love" in the historical scene and discussed how the idea of "love" was interpreted and shaped by readers and literary historical narratives in different periods of history. Section Ⅰ pointed out that acceptance of the idea of "love" showed complex, gradually changing criticized landscape by analyzing the critical vision in the idea of "love" of many May Fourth New Literature writers. In the changes from "Revolutionary Literature" to "Literary Revolution", new spiritual values, reading tastes and aesthetic requirements endowed the idea of "love" with new evaluation criteria. Section Ⅱ took To Little Readers for example and discussed the changes of communication context, writing mentality and audience expectations. It found that To Little Readers had been given eternal literary charm via the narrations of common human feelings such as childlike innocence, love of nature,"Nostalgia" words and sympathy under exotic writing space. However, both the writing motivation of the second and the third came from the grand propositions of times. That was why Bing Xin added the distinctive speech of the times and a strong sense of social responsibility into her "love".
