This is a report on a translation project, the original text of which is selected from DecentInterval, a war memoir written by Frank Snepp, who is a writer, journalist, and former analystfrom the Central Intelligence Agency. The onetime CIA information analyst in Saigonprovides a closely recorded account of the American withdrawal from Saigon, criticizing indetail the self-serving activities and unnecessary miseries involved.The translation project is a part of the publishing project of the Simplified Chineseversion of Decent Interval in the mainland of China, which started in January,2012andfinished in March,2012. Since that the modification work of the publisher and theexamination and approval work of the government take a long time, the Simplified Chineseversion of the book has not been published yet when this report is written. Therefore, thecopyright of the original text and the translation in the appendix of this report belongs to thepress.In this report, the author analyzed the application of translation theories, translation skillsand translation tools, especially the CAT tools, in the translation project. The experienceobtained from the project is summarized as well.
