Chinese Two-syllables Compound Verbs In "VP-neg-VP"Questions

This thesis is about Chinese two-syllables compound verbs in VP-neg-VP questions, which comparing to previous research results and our descriptive analysis.We choose777two-syllables compound verbs in Chinese Verb usage dictionary, according to the distinguishing feature of the verbs, deleting and classifying them by their acceptance of the format of VP-neg-VP questions. Totally we divide them into four categories, including "Xihuan","Xuexi","Baohan" and "Renshi". Except of the feather of the verbs, we also put forward to two interpretation principles. One of the principles is the Objective Topic Principle, the other is the Principle of Ellipsis Sequence Principle. To study the actual corpus, we sum up three characters of "VP-neg-VP" question.In the third chapter of this thesis, we focus on the "VP-neg-VP" question in Chinese regional dialects. Additionally, we observe and study the research status of dialect grammar in Henan dialect, especially "Yanshi" dialect which is the author’s first language.In the forth chapter of this thesis, we pay attention to the "VP-neg-VP" question’s format normalization, and on this basis we consider there is five format of the verb "Xihuan" which occupy the core position of27variable formats. Further more, in this five formats there is big difference in frequency of usage, most of people who had accepted the "V-neg-VO" format will choose "A-neg-AB" preferentially.
