This thesis is focus on XingShiYan, a Huaben novel of Ming Dynasty. Through carefully reading the stories of the novel, this thesis is to analysis the story texts of XingShiYan and their related points on story type, subject, ideological tendency and so on in order to get to know the scheduling principles of XingShiYan. Comparing Stories of XingShiYan with their original materials to examine its characteristics in material handling of XingShiYan. Studying XingShiYan s narrative steering influenced by the traditional novel narrative and the author’s inertia of thinking, putting it in the context of Chinese classical novels. In addition, from the view of physical violence and moral perfection and culture of revenge, analysis the relationship between the typical characters and the mood of times, social cultural, which embodies the contradictions and features of the social culture.This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter focuses on the XingShiYan s creative ideas by analyzing the correlation between the contents. The second chapter examines the source material and XingShiYan’s handling art of the material. The third chapter analyzes the narrative shift of XingShiYan. Chapters IV and V is from the perspective of medicine, gender and body theoretical to study the significance in writing physical violence for achieving moral perfection of XingShiYan.
