The King-subject relationship in China’s traditional culture is the head ofthe society, in the ancient society is an unavoidable relationship. Even if theTaoism that free from vulgarity is not completely denying it, not to theConfucianism、 Mohist、Legalism. King-subject concept is one of the basicideas of Confucian governing strategy; consist of King’s Principle, Minister’sPrinciple and the King-subject relationship. The King developed by Clan leader,have King have Minister, how to adjust the relationship between the King andMinister is the prominent question of social and political life. Confucius claimsKing and Minister must know their status. Mencius had high request to King.Xunzi inherited the thought of Confucius and Mencius. Xunzi lived in theWarring States Period end, that the world is about to unify eve. The future ofthe country how to manage became the focus of Xunzi thinking, his ideas areembodied in the book of Xunzi. This paper was the choice of "King","Minister" relationship as a starting point, first, because in the book of Xunzi, there aremany chapters about " King" and "Minister" related discussion; second, theproblem of the relationship between the "King" and "Minister" is the key ofunderstanding social evolution and political power structure, and understandingthe political thought of Xunzi.This paper there is five major parts: The first part mainly introduces thesocial background of Xunzi’s life and the origin of his thought of "King" and"Minister". The second part mainly introduces the King’s Principle of Xunzi.The third part discusses the Minister’s Principle of Xunzi. The fourth partdiscusses the King-subject relationship. The fifth part compares Xunzi’sKing-subject relationship with Confucius and Mencius.
