We set the semantic meaning of "VA le"as a starting point which confused the second language learners. We divide the semantic meaning of "VA le" into "(VA le)1"which means the realization of a certain result,"(VA le)2" which means the unexpected results and "(VA le)3" which means the semantic meaning of both "(VA le)1" and "(VA le)2", and apply the results of this study to foreign language teaching of "(VA le)".First, in the process of analysing the semantic directing of "(VA le)1",we divide the single semantic directing into eight classes, list examples in every part. Using the theory of semantic roles’combination and transformation to explain the undefined semantic directing, then reach a conclusion that because many semantic roles combine and transform to one so the semantic directing is undefined. Second, in the process of analysing the semantic directing of "(VA le)2",we find the difference of"(VA le)2" and"(VA le)1", the semantic meaning of"(VA le)2" contains the feeling of astonished, complaining and so on, but not "(VA le)1"; the manner of speaking of"(VA le)2"is"A le","VA le", but the manner of speaking of "(VA le)1" is "VA","VA le"; the "A" in the structure"(VA le)2" is all open degree of neutral "A", there is no alike standard, so there is much difference between expected results and realized results. Finally, according the difference between "(VA le)1" and "(VA le)2", we can distinguish the different semantic meaning of "(VA le)3",from the syntax of (VA le)3" to discuss their syntax fault and ambiguous meaning. we will take this as an entry point " VA le " in foreign language teaching, so we divided it into four stages, from the pragmatic and cognitive linguistics perspective, proposing the foreign language teaching strategies of "VA le ".
