The Translation Of Obama’s Weekly Radio Addresses

Due to the unique development course of the western politics, political speeches play a very important role in the social life of Western countries. And the Weekly Radio Address by the President of the United States, as a form of political speeches, plays an important part in American political life. Meanwhile, it has its own distinct stylistic features.This paper, first, studies the stylistic features of President Obama’s weekly radio addresses in vocabulary, syntax, and rhetoric. And based on it, this paper, with specific examples, analyzes the specific translation skills and strategies in vocabulary, syntax and rhetoric with the purpose of providing some reference for other translators to get a more accurate understanding and better translation of the President Obama’s weekly radio addresses and other Western political addresses.
