Study On Surrealism Painting From Semiotics

Surrealism painting has a special significance in modern art of Europe and even the whole western modern art,it is the major development of surrealism in the visual arts. Surrealism pursus the form that deviate from the tradition,for the purpose of open up a band new art form and different way of thingking and expression.The research about surrealism is quite concerned in art circles both home and abroad.Since the second half of the twentieth century, interdisciplinary research injected new vitality into the art. Semiotics is the research approaches about symbolic activity,symbol expression,nature of symbol,symbol characteristics and rules.Based on philosophy,as methodology of cross-disciplines of humanities and social sciences,it can break the subject boundaries and study with many kinds of theory and method.This subject analyzes the art characteristic of surrealism painting by mainly using the basic theory of semiotics.It explores the social environment and art trend at that time, analyzes how was surrealism formed, evolved,how surrealist lived. Then this paper emphasize on interpret the symbol organize and forms of the special artistic language of surrealism paiting through exemplifying and analyzing the representative surrealist works.Surrealism paiting arose about a century ago,but the art thoughts and artistic expressive methods have probuced extensive profound influence on culture and art.Surrealism do not have a unified form,some artist prefer to describe with skills of realistic paiting and some was abstraction with automatic paiting modeling.After systematically expounded surrealism paiting symbol,this article focuses on the other visual fields and analyzes the influence of surrealism paiting in fine art and culture world.Semiotics is a kind of practical methodology,the contribution to the research of semiotics in art has the significance of originality.The content and the form of art is always subjective,and semiotics can systematization it and make it organized.Study surrealism painting from the semiotics perspective is benefit to multi-angled theoretic research of art.It will help artistic creation and appreciation.
