In the vast chinese and western long history. cattle is one of the animalsthat closest to humans. so that cattle are the main subject of many art works inworld wide. from the Qin and Han to the Ming and Qing dynasties, from ancientgreece to renaissance.chinese cattle is a symbol of good luck and the earth.western cattle is a symbol of power and wealth. chinese and western cattleproduced a huge difference in the visual impression. emphasis on expressive ofchinese painting, with the focus on realistic western art. the difference haveexisted as early as in primitive period. this visual difference not only has relatedwith the chinese and western cattle culture. art materials, religion and otherfactors will have an enormous impact. the differences are reduced when Chinaand Western communicate more frequently. for example, there are a lot ofdecorative lines in paintings of western fauvist master Henri Matisse, creativeideas tend to express the symbolic and emotional development, no longer toimitate the real world; and Zhang Daqian’s impressionistic works cattleembodies the essence of Picasso’s cubism. The rise of modern symbolism,chinese and western painting begin to advocate a simplest lines, colors andshapes to express works essence. lead to works of visual impression arebeginning to move closer to the primitives, showing a sophisticated retro flavor.
