Familiar Face And Unfamiliar Face Recognition In Different Memory System

Faces are a rich source of nonverbal stimuli, social interaction and adapt to the environment, in the human daily life plays an important role in. In scientific research, face recognition research also has important value, such as pattern recognition, computer science, etc have important significance of polygraph.This research adopts the advanced eye movement recording methods of face recognition and recognition from the new angle of view recording experiments were performed, in strictly controlled experimental conditions, access to a wealth of research targets and accurate experimental data. In long-term memory and working memory system two links to familiar faces and the unfamiliar face processing differences were explored, based on the above analysis and discuss, reach the following conclusion:1. In long-term memory system, familiar faces could be categorized faster than unfamiliar faces. When the recognition and judgment stage are separated, the speed of recognition is not influenced by the present time length, face can be identified in the shortest possible time. The average time of familiar faces judgment is291ms, a total time of recognition and judge is391ms, the average time of unfamiliar faces judgment is359ms, a total time of recognition and judge is459ms.2. In working memory system, familiar faces could be categorized faster than unfamiliar faces, there is inversion effect in both of the two kinds of faces. Familiar faces could be categorized as early as155ms after presentation, unfamiliar faces could be categorized as early as231ms in2AFC task.3. In both long-term memory system and working memory system familiar faces could be categorized faster than unfamiliar faces, it can be seemed that familiar face is more attractive.4. In the rapidly presented condition, most gaze points concentrated in the eyes area, there are a few points fall in the face in the mouth area.
