Primary Study On Deqing ’Proto-Porcelain’of The Shang And Zhou Dynasties

Zhejiang is the home of major Chinese porcelain, early in the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, taking Deqing kiln as the center of the Dongtiao Creek area began to put up kilns and fired porcelain, developing a unique style of the original porcelain. This study topics of the Deqing proto-porcelain for the research object, aims to systematically expounded the reason of Deqing kiln proto-porcelain kiln site during Shang and Zhou Dynasties, discussion the porcelain level and evolution of technology of Deqing proto-porcelain bodies and glazes, and explore its status and function of the antient Yue porcelain industry.This article is based on the current archaeological investigation basic situation, from the natural geographical and historical aspects expounds the superiority condition of Deqing proto-porcelain production during the Shang and Zhou Dynasties. Focus from the perspective of Deqing proto-porcelain technology achievement to explore the porcelain levels in deqing area, including three aspects about raw materials, molding and decoration techniques, and firing technique. Using energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry(EDXRF),the raw material chemical composition of samples were measured and the data were analyzed by multivariate statistical analysis, then expounded the evolution process of development and the technical progress in General during four development periods. And discussed the development of Dragon kiln technology evolution in Deqing area, using thermal expansion analysis(TEM)and X-ray diffractometer (XRD) analysis, the same four samples were separate measured. Study finds that Deqing kilns products during the warring States period has close to Modern standard definition mature porcelain. According to the findings of the above study to discuss the definition of porcelain, this study from the physical properties and chemical properties of both judge the quality and performance of porcelain, definitions and standards for porcelain adds a new meaning.The last part of this study comparative analysis the Tingziqiao kiln proto-porcelain and the proto-porcelain unearthed from noble Yue tomb at Hongshan hill in Wuxi, preliminary study finds that the proto-porcelain unearthed from noble Yue tomb at Hongshan hill should come from Deqing area in Zhejiang. Deqing area as a porcelain centre of Yue, had a huge production capacity, according to the present archaeological findings and research, you can call it the "source of porcelain".
