In recent years, it is obvious that the significance of domestic English teachingattracts people’s attention in terms of enhancing China’s rejuvenation. Scholarsgradually realized that the autonomous learning ability played a significant role in thelanguage learning process, which stimulated more scholars to get involved in the areaof learning strategies. Meanwhile, the ability of mastering the usage of words has adirect impact on an English-learner’s whole procedure of learning. The researchersgradually shifted the focus of studying from vocabulary to the vocabulary learningstrategies of language learners. Vocabulary learning is one of the vital parts supportingthe whole English learning process. Choosing the right vocabulary learning strategycan have a positive effect on English-learner’s capabilities. At present, there are notsufficient achievements in the field of the relations between English vocabularylearning and English records.Through the investigations about the vocabulary learning strategies fornon-English majors, this paper researches on the correlation between vocabularylearning strategies and English scores, analyzing the usage of the strategies. Hopefully,this paper could offer helpful and meaningful references to English teachers andstudents.The paper is divided into five Chapters. Chapter one,Introduction,it focuses onthe necessity of studying vocabulary learning strategies, and the significance ofvocabulary teaching. Chapter two, Literature Review,presents the development oflearning strategies, definitions and categories of learning strategies, and reviewsrelevant studies of vocabulary learning strategies. Chapter three, Research Design,mainly shows the research questions, research subjects, instruments, and datacollection. Chapter four, Results and Discussion,analyzes the English vocabularylearning strategies used by non-English major students, and discusses the correlationbetween the use of vocabulary learning strategies and English scores. Chapter Five,Conclusion, illustrates the research findings and the implications of the study, andpoints out the limitations as well.
