Part I show that speech sound is not working on word recognition.Part II find that independent words’first fixation duration significantly higher than homophones words’ first fixation duration.Low frequency homophones words’total time signficantly higher than high frequency homophones words’total time.Part II show that speech sound is working on word recognition not noly early but also later. The above two experiments show that both voice channels and non-voice channels are exist on word recognition.Which path shall depend on the contact strength between the shape and sound.Base on the above two experiments, the study supports dual-route theoty. The study also tells us that in the study on word recognition problem, taking into account the frequency, the contact strength between the shape and sound and other factors, the study have much more practical significance. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Word Recognition, Speech Sound, Word Frequency, Eye Movement Research | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
