With the upsurge of learning Chinese worldwide in recent years, a lot of course booksfocused on both traditional Chinese in Hong Kong and Taiwan and simplified Chinese inmainland as well have been developed and compiled under joint efforts of some expertsfrom linguistics and education fields. As a widely-applied course book oriented towardschildren to learn Chinese in simplified Chinese environment, the Chinese for Childrendraws substantial best features from many Chinese teaching materials at home and abroadand write a lot of important oriental cultural contents. However, it has still become anobject of public denunciation in terms of sequence integrity, difficulty degree, contentsselection and vocabulary design. As a famous English teaching materials in the world,theOxford English for Chinese children in particularly has enjoyed a good reputation andhighly praised by all parties including teachers, schools, students and parents. This articleis designated to figure out some elements and nutriments that can be referred from onecomplete and matured teaching materials for foreign studies by making an in-depth studyand research on Chinese for Children and Oxford English for Chinese Children and putforward some new ideas and proposals about the compiling, application and promotion ofChinese for Children. The survey and questionnaire in this article faced to teachers,students and parents is unique in the perspective of science and research, which reveals thepractical questions of Chinese for Children and experience from the users through therelevant data and situation. On the other hand, the corresponding comments andsuggestions fully reflect the innovative thinking and science spirit based on the solution inthe hope that it can bring about substantial assistance and positive influence to the coursebook of Chinese for Children.
