After the revolution and Cromwell administration, the Restored Monarchy declared England history went into the last feudal period. This period was the important stage of British modern transition, its economy, politics and culture were deeply branded with the revolution, while keeping the strong feudal autocracy factors. At the same time the religious policy also showed distinct characteristics because of the current changes and development. Charles Ⅱ continued the tolerant religious policy in Cromwell period. He merged the Anglicans and other Protestant denominations together. By limiting partly right of the Puritans, he maintained the dominance of state religion and stablized the restored regime for building a relatively tolerant atmosphere. His successor, James Ⅱ, carried out extreme restoration of Catholic policy which not only led to the glorious revolution, but also objectively accelerated development of British religious pluralism.The paper can be divided into three major parts:the foreword, the text, and the conclution. The foreword briefly introduces the brief reasons and the significance for the choice of this topic, the present situation of the academic research in and abroad, the reserchobjectives and methords, as well as the innovation of this paper.the text is made up of four chaters:the first makes a concise portrayal of the religious development status of England since the early17th Century, that is, the historical setting of the religious policy of the Restored Monachy, The second mainly probes King Charles Ⅱ pursued the tolerant and strict religious policy alternately, the third aims at analyzing the religious policy of King James Ⅱ, The forth aims at explaining the reasons and characters of the religious policy of the Restored Monachy. The conclution summarizes the historical significance of the religious policy, fuether deeping the understanding of the religious problems of the period.
