Research On The National Identity Function Of The Traditional Festivals

The functions of the traditional festivals are cultural identity and the humanitiesentertainment features. Our traditional festivals carry the blood of Chinese culture, andtheir cultures reflect the national character and national culture. Common celebrations oftraditional festivals make us get pleasure on physiology and psychology. The traditionalfestivals allow people to share a common culture to get together and have a great affinitywith identity.With the deepening of reform and opening up not only the prosperity and theopportunities have great development, but also greatly contributes to the interaction ofdifferent cultures. It strongly improves cultural integration and promotes thecommunication of the national culture. It also makes the cultural psychology of thepeople undergone a great deal of influence. Traditional culture is no longer our pride, andits social function is gradually weakening.This article selects the most unique traditional festival of traditional culture as aresearch object. First, we provide the concept of traditional festivals and national identity,and then we pointed out the difficulties to traditional festivals, and analyze the causes andthe impacts of this predicament; finally, from the perspective of national identity, wepropose a number of measures on the protection of traditional festivals.In this paper, taking account for a new cognition of the traditional festivals, weexplore the humane care which implied in traditional festivals and want people to givefull attention to the ethnic identity function of traditional festivals. Meanwhile,theoretical analysis shows that: the protection of the traditional festival has greatsignificance and we need to ensure that the necessity to adapt the cultural mentality in theprocess of cultural exchange. In order to better play the role of the festival identity, weexplore an interleaving point where not only absorbs the essence of the foreign culturewhile preserving the national culture.
