Song Wenzhi, as the outstanding painter in the history of Chinese landscape painting in the20thcentury, his artistic thought, artistic style and artistic achievement have become a learning model ofcontemporary artist.To start with "four Wangs", tracing back to Song and Yuan Dynasty.Most of his works are delicate andpretty, being good at performing jiangnan water charm. Ink for poetry bone, together with color rendering,his works are bright and beautiful. He forms a strong and energetic painting style through sketchingaccumulation. His old age creation---"small splash color", based on the flowing natural color texture,through several sketches, become a painting full of interests, contemporary feeling and new image oflandscape. Along with time vicissitude, Song Wenzhi’s landscape painting style gradually shows as: freshand delicate style of song dynasty, magnificent and powerful style of song dynasty, unique style of "smallsplash color". These three styles have strong epochal character, distinct traits, and each of them is excellent.Using "landscape painting rheology" as a main line, starts from the landscape painting creation ofSong Wenzhi, then analyzes the subjective reason and historical background of the landscape paintingchanges, combined with his representative works of various periods. From different points of view, itanalyzes, compares and inducts to find the characteristic hidden in different styles of his works. Then itexpounds the guiding effect of Song Wenzhi landscape painting creation for new Jinling painting fans andits important position in the landscape painting of the20th century.
