The Conception And Ideology Of "Voice","Sound","Music" In The Pre-Qin Literature

During the period of pre-Qin, the meaning of the music is meaningful. Books Save the history conception and understandings about the origin of music, music theory, music definition in the pre-Qin.In this paper, the author review the books to discuss the conception and ideas of sounds in the pre-Qin period,analysis the history from the sounds to the sounds of music arts, trace the early structure and system of music. Music has its meaning in spirits. The formation of the musical concepts in pre-Qin makes the basis of China political and religion ethics’mode, reflects the ideas of the relationship between the real world and the spirits’world in pre-Qin. The Book of the’Book of Songs’deposits the earliest music literature text. It has Sound ideas and is played with music in different occasions, reflecting the culture of the etiquettes and music. Confucius and Xunzi’s view points of music, is the most influenced ideas about the music in the pre-Qin period.The paper is mainly consist of three chapters. The first chapter refines the conception of sounds in pre-Qin. And analysis the procession from sounds to the art of music,including five sounds and eight tones’formation, different sounds’ distinguishing, music’s meaning in moral level. Music’s structure in the early time,concludes Instrumental music and vocal music. The formation of music reflects people’s knowledge and ideas between the real world and the spirits’world in pre-Qin. Chapter2analysis the music opinions in the book of the "Book of Songs",which deposits the earliest music literature text. Chapter3explores the book’The Record of Music’, Confucius and Xunzi’s view points of music and refers to the Taoist’s view point of music.The basic idea is to start from the texts in the pre-Qin time, explore the conception of sounds, the ideas about the etiquettes and music in pre-Qin. The books can reflect the history of civilization in the ancient social system as logical materials of ideas.Due to the limitations of historical data, there arc two main aspects in the study of Chinese music. One is the discussion on the music history, music theory, music means in the saved texts since pre-Qin.The other is the study and creation on music texts.This paper is based on a lot of materials existed that many scholars have finished. And the discussion works on the the political and ethical system in Pre-Qin,in which music education is one of the most important politic means. And I hope the conclusion of the paper will have certain significances for the history and reality.
