A Research On Sun Qifeng’s Practical Thought

Sun Qinfeng directed at the disadvantages of armchair character of the amiq of Confucianism in the late Ming dynasty. In analysis of cheng zhu’s Confucianism and Lu Wang’s neo-Confucianism, he didn’t stick to parochial prejudice and turned back to Confucius and Mencius. His thought understood the tide’s of thought of two generations about Confucianism in Song and Ming dynasty and practical trend in Ming and Ching dynasty, and found a practical way for practical trend. His thought not only contained Confucian substance of Confucianists, but also not gave up the substance of the mind of Confucianists. He achieved his own practical thought on the way of bringing Confucianism into legitimacy and finding reasonableness for further development of Confucianism. Most of the research is aimed at his thought of Confucianism in terms of the study of the thought of Sun Qifeng at the contemporary period. However, we can find that Sun’s thought of Confucianism was brought up more in a methodology level, and has the element of practical trend obviously. This article found the specific content of his practical thought by analyzing his life, writing and saying. The article analyses the inner logic of Sun’s practical thought and explains the historic status of the practical thought.
