While thedevelopment and improvement of folk songs benefit from those superior singers or artists,which are very important content or component for folk songs. Understanding of them isnegligible part for folk songs. Mr Li Xianwen is main study of this thesis, who is a singer withthe command of hundreds of folk songs with various of content and styles, and with splendidcultural background.With the increasing attention to ethnic art and the raise of immaterial heritage protection,folk song among common people has witnessed a new era. People of Hebei Province enjoythe influential reputation of being good at singing, among whom, folk song singer Yan Sannifrom Jiaotan Village from Pingshan country and blind singer Yuan Zhenfa are regards as thetypical. Mr Li Xianwen, who is the study of this thesis, and ever sing hundreds of songs isworthy our observation and understanding with a musical eye. They symbolize the incessantChinese traditional ethnic art and worthy our attention. To record the folk singer is also theresponsibility for a musical worker.The author believe that under the background of rapid information development, thereare already some singer-oriented specific study, which comparatively far away from the studyof the contribution and influence of folk song singer to the development of folk songs. Inanother word, the study of folk song singer is still a area to be developed. The purpose ofauthor aims to enrich the study in this area.The thesis consists of three parts, the forward raise the motives for this study, chapter onedescribes the current study and study method of folk song singer Mr Li Xianwen; Chapter twoexplains the singing characteristic and cultural background of Mr Li Xianwen. Chapter threeevaluates the tradition of Chinese folk songs through the folk singer of Mr Li Xianwen andexpresses the expectation of an increasing attention to folk song singers.
