A Tentative Exploration Of Interpreting Testing Model Optimization

Based on Communicative Language Testing Theory of Bachman, this paper will confirm the proposals that1) the objective of interpreting test is communicative competence of testees,2) major domestic interpretation certification tests have their respective merits and short-comings through a comparative study of mainstream current interpretation certification tests in mainland China, and3) interpreting test assessments are on the path of quantification and standardization.The paper will also point out areas that have not been covered by previous researchers in this stage of interpreting test assessment evolution:1) interpreting test assessment study from the perspective of concurrent validity, which calls for comparative study of testees who have taken part in two or more interpreting certification tests within a certain time span, and2) tentative suggestions for follow-up study model of testees. This part of the paper is mainly to pave the way for further experimental research in the future.
