Teaching design is a process for the teacher to orderly and optimized arrangeeach factor, and form the teaching plan according to the teaching object and goal.Teaching design is not only an important basis in the whole teaching process, but alsoplays an important role in the teaching effect.During the teaching Chinese as a foreign language, especially in the Chineseintensive reading, teachers carry the multiple teaching tasks of words, sentence pattern,grammar and culture. How to integrate the existed teaching material and resources,and adopt which teaching method to stimulate students’ learning interest and completethe teaching task qualifiedly and effectively in the limited time have always been theproblem for those teachers teaching Chinese as a foreign language to think about.Combined with the practice in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, this paperhas researched on the effective teaching design in the course with the aim of betterimproving students’ actual ability and meeting their learning needs. With the article of“Happy journal to Xishuang Banna”, it has made the teaching design to discusstogether.This paper contains three parts, and the contents of each part are as follows:Part One is the introduction, which has expounded the research background,summarized the literatures and situation related with teaching design, and put forwardsome innovation points.Part Two is the theoretical basis for teaching design of “Happy journal toXishuang Banna”, which has expounded the concept and method of design from theaspects of textbook analysis, class mode analysis, followed principle, teaching methodand teaching hours.Part Three is the main body of the paper, which is the specific design of “Happy journal to Xishuang Banna”. It can be divided into seven parts of teaching object,teaching content, teaching goal, teaching emphasis and difficulty, teaching preparation,class hour arrangement, teaching process and design intent. On the teaching design, itshould try to be more close to students’ learning ability, learning interest and learninghabit to make the teaching Chinese as a foreign language more effective.
