Vocabulary is the paramount vibrant and opening composition of one language, labeled as the barometer of society. Alongside the development of society and technology, myriad new stuffs, phenomena and concepts are popped out, which gives rise to new words. In recent years, the surging of variable Neologism arouses many of scholars’ attention. The long period study of Russian neologism leads the formation of one novel independent language discipline. Fruitful results have been achieved by the linguists both at home and abroad and the neologism is worth of further studying.In terms of Neologism, there are two definitions. In narrow sense, the new words are the referents to the words that do not have existence in lexicon. While in broad concept, new meanings adapted to existent words could be counted as the new words. For this thesis, the broad concept is employed, for the purpose of comprehensively detecting and defining new vocabulary.This thesis is comprised of three aspects:preface, body text and conclusion.The body part is constituted of five chapters. The first chapter explains theoretical problems of Russian new vocabulary, its history and definition based on former achievement; the second chapter emphasizes on the formation of neologism; the third chapter classifies the neologism in other perspective; the fourth one studies the problems people encounter in the utilization of these neologism; the last chapter supplements the common strategies in the translation.The conclusion part summarizes the whole thesis, resulting in conclusion and projecting its further development.
