In1950, the Communist Party of China began to carry out the land reformmovement in newly liberated area, which is quite different from the former ones.This land reform movement started after the establishment of the case of thenational people’s regime. In the early year of new China,Communist Party of Chinawas still facing various challenges and unfavorable situation, the occurrence of newdistrict land reform took place in such an extraordinary period with its historicalinevitability.From1950to1952, there still existed sharp contradictions between the majorityof farmers and the landlord class in the newly liberated areas with a large populationof264million.the old feudal forces were ready to carry out in the ruralareas. Completion of land reform is not only an inevitable requirement of China’s newdemocratic revolution, but also the needs of consolidating the grassroots politicalpower of rural people. In addition to the transformation of the old and the neweconomic system, the CPC Central Committee was facing severe domestic economicsituation.As a consequence,it is an important step to carry out the land reform toachieve a fundamental improvement of the financial and economic situation in China.The paper is aimed to study the land reform of Dingxi in the establishment ofnew China,which is based on the absorption of academia, research and land reformparties oral information collected on the basis of objectively investigated Dingxi inthe period of land reform farmers, landowners, rural cadres, government and nationalpolicy, and analysis of the subtle relationship of mutual influence between the ruralsociety, farmers, rural cadres as well as policy in the land reform process.The paper consists of6parts: The first part is introduction, including DingxiCounty, the value of the land reform in the early days and the Academic History ofthe land reform research. The second part is about the central and provincial policiesand regulations which provide a legal basis for the local to carry out land reform. Thethird part illustrates the preparatory work of land reform in Dingxi County, banditshegemonism from rent and interest reduction movement to suppresscounter-revolutionaries, and to survey the land tenure situation.These preparations are beneficial to the smooth progress of land reform movement, providing a goodfoundation to its completement. Part four introduces the process of land reformmovement.The movement firstly began from the trial of the village. With thesuccessfull experiment, it was pushed to the county to achieve greater success, inaddition to the correction of the land reform revision, the final completion of landreform tasks achieved the ideal of "land to the tiller".Part V summarizes the theDingxi land reform movement, affirmed the achievements and problems, and thelessons learned in the movement. The sixth part is the conclusion.
