A Research Of The Movement Of Publicizing And Implementing The Marriage Law Of Gansu In The Early Years Of Establishment Of PRC

The feudalism marriage system had existed in china for a long time,long-termliving in a dominant position.May1,1950, the marriage Law came into force uponpromulgation,This marks the new China legally abolished the feudal marriage systemof arranged and forced marriage, patriarchal, and ignore the interests of childrencharacterized by，to establish the legitimate interests of the freedom of marriage,andestablished the new democratic marriage system, whose characters are the marriagefreedom,the sexualequality andprotecting the children，s legitimate benefit.In orderto eliminate the influence ofthe traditional marriage thoroughly on the people andcause the marriage law to enter every family, Gansu Province from May1950to April1953, the Marriage Law, carried out mass propaganda to implement the Marriage LawMovement. The campaign largely through two stages: Gansu initial publicity of themarriage law to implement the （May1950-December1952） and the fullyoperational stage （January-April, l953）. After about three years of hard work, Theimplementation of the Marriage Law movement has made certain achievements inGansu, and basically destroyed the old system of marriage, to establish a new systemof marriage and customs. However, the change of the marriage can not be doneovernight. Affected by national political, economic, the feudalism marriage ideas, themovement has some limitations, the feudalism marriage system had a more widespread influence on the marriage and family life of the people in Gansu.thus,thoroughly eradicating the feudalism marriage idea and the establishment of anew marriage and family system was still a long-term and arduous task.The paper is divided into four parts: The first part provides an overview of thenew China Marriage Law, promulgated by the background and main content topromote the social repercussions. Start with marriage and family relationships in thesecond part of Gansu to carry out the background of marriage, and then describes indetail the process of Gansu implement the Marriage Law movement.
