| As we enter new century which is characterized by abundant information and knowledge Rapidgrowth of technology makes greater demands on learner’s reading ability, especially the ability to read inEnglish. Thus, the studies on juniors’ reading strategies are increasing grow. However, the specific studiesof reading strategies are fewer. The portfolio based micro genetic research of junior students’ readingstrategies instruction hasn’t been seen yet. We introduce portfolio into study which function as recordertool of application of reading strategies in this study, thus we investigate the changing of reading strategiesand differences existing between female students and male students in aspect of using reading strategy bythe micro genetic methods.Participants are from two classes in grade two of Qin An Middle School, including87students.45students are in experimental class and42students are in control class. They all participated in theinvestigation of reading strategy questionnaire composed based on Anderson’ list which includes27reading strategy. All the students training lasted for4months. Before training, the pretest was conductedon test the subjects’ reading proficiency. It is shown by the Independent-sample T-test that there was notsignificant difference between the two groups.All the data of study deal with SPSS13.0statistical analysis system. After training, Pair-sample T-testis applied to find out differences in reading proficiency of experimental group before and after training.Independent-sample T-test was applied to investigate differences in reading proficiency and strategy usebetween experimental group and control group.The results of studies show that:(1) the training of the reading strategy base on the portfolio can makethe learner take change in application of reading strategy.(2).there is the difference existing between thefemale students and male students in make using of strategy. Meanwhile the finding suggests that readingstrategies are teachable and learnable. |
